Parker came into me the other day without his glasses on.
I said, "Parker, where are your glasses?"
His response, "Chloe took them!"
I asked Chloe if she took his glasses and she said, "No, he just brought them over to me."
So I ask...do 1 year old's (soon to be 2) really lie? If so, it is still pretty cute to me!
A couple days later, he again came over to me without his glasses on. I asked him again,
"Parker, where are your glasses?" (a phrase he has heard SO many times, but luckily isn't hearing it so much anymore. Or shall I say...before his glasses broke this past weekend)
He said as he walked toward the pantry cupboard,
"In the snack bucket!"
Usually he can always tell me where his glasses are, as long as I ask him soon after I notice them being off. He has started being a little bit more sneaky though and hiding them in places I wouldn't think to look - such as the bucket with a bunch of hot wheel cars or behind things. Since he hasn't had his glasses since Saturday, he has asked me almost daily where they are. I told him they were at the shop getting fixed and asked him if he wanted to wear them - to which he would reply yes. So, hopefully, he is really noticing that they really are helping some and will want to wear them more often.
On a side note though...his glasses are only doing part of the job. His eyes are not as bad, but still going somewhat cross-eyed. So we have a couple more months to try to work with them some more and strengthen them. If at the end of March that doesn't seem to be helping, his dr. has recommended him for surgery to fix the muscles that are pulling his eyes inward. I am not sure what approach yet we want to take for him. Surgery is a scary thing, but yet, if that is the thing that will help him - then we might have to do that. I would love to NOT though if we could. We shall see!
